This is sung due to the fact that most Celtic fans are Irish or have family from Ireland, and that the club was founded in 1888 by an Irish Priest and the IRA was formed to fight back against the Soldiers who were sent over to initially protect the innocent people from the Protestants who were carrying out attacks on the innocent Catholic people the soldiers were doing this when they first came over but due to most of them being Protestant they ended up assisting the Protestant paramilitaries called the UVF AND THE UDA
